Portrait photography truly is my passion, and this summer I have been blessed to have so many amazing clients. There are tons of new photos I still have to share with you, however, today I'm going to mix it up with something a little more personal.
After being flooded with work these past few weeks, (something for which I am very thankful!) followed by a recent trip to Portland, I had quite a busy week of editing to do. I must admit, I often become absorbed in processing photos and sometimes need a gentle shove out the front door for some fresh air. Last Thursday's getaway involved driving out to Portage for the evening with my husband. We hiked, fished for our dinner, and hung out around the campfire with part of his family until the wee small hours of the morning.
I suppose that no matter what it is we do, every once in a while it is necessary to step back from our work and take a moment to enjoy these fleeting days of summer. Especially in a place as magnificent as Alaska.
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
Henry David Thoreau
